Hi,

We had a great first session at the PTG today, thanks to all of you who were able to join for the lively conversation!

We touched on the preparation steps that are needed to take an edge use case from theory to production. Deploying infrastructure on large scale can be tricky, but the real challenge appears when you extend your infrastructure out to the edge. To address the needs and requirements, our topics today included automation, templates, testing and validation and we also started to talk about networking to prepare to connect and bootstrap the system.

If you missed the gathering today, not to worry, there are still two more days with lots of edge talk left!

__On Tuesday (April 05) at 8am PDT / 1500 UTC__ we will talk about the deployment phase. All the steps you need to take to get the infrastructure up and running and deploy the applications on top.

Hi,

We had a great session today to discuss topics relevant to the Day-1 stage of edge deployments.

We touched on networking needs and requirements when it comes to setting up edge deployments, we touched on licensing a little as well as discussed hardware options and challenges.

__Tomorrow (April 6) we are meeting at 7am PDT / 1400 UTC / 16:00 CEST__ to get to the meat and talk about what it takes to operate an end-to-end edge infrastructure in production!

Hi,

The OpenInfra Edge Computing Group participated recent Project Teams Gathering (PTG) event with very lively sessions on three consecutive days earlier this week.

Our theme for the discussions was the journey of taking your edge use case into production. In addition, our conversations also covered the challenges of operating edge infrastructures in production, where we touched on the solution space as well.

Subject: [Edge-computing] Weekly Call Meeting Minutes

Hi,

We had a short call today, but we still made some progress.

We identified areas to untangle for the next few weekly calls:

* April 25: We will be discussing license management at the edge: requirements and solutions
* Onwards: The PTG uncovered quite a few interesting topics with regards to Day 2/n operations that have been overlooked in the past.
	* It is important to look into how the infrastructure as well as the applications will be operated as that creates new requirements to take into account at the design and rollout phases. We will discuss this at the upcoming weekly calls to understand the requirements better.
