<p>We just completed an effort of renaming the master branch to main for all rust-vmm repositories.<br>

This topic was discussed during the last rust-vmm sync meeting as well. Then we decided that we'll mark the master branch as deprecated, and add a new branch called main so we don't break customers that are consuming the master branch [1].</p>

<p>We reverted this decision as we got new input from Rob, letting us know that GitHub provides a redirect from master to main. This simplified the switch significantly (thanks Rob!).<br>

<p>Don't forget to also update your local branches to rename master to main, and track the upstream `main` branch now.<br>
