Hi All, I'm reaching out to you with some updates. Edge AI IEEE paper: A few folks from the authors of the latest white paper our group has published put together an article to include in an IEEE publication. We've received review comments, which the group will need to address in the coming weeks. It is great news overall, as most of the comments are straightforward to fix and it is a good sign that the article will be published once we have the new revision. OpenInfra Summit Europe is happening this weekend, Beth Cohen and I are doing a presentation to talk about the new Edge AI white paper. As we'll be both in transit afterward, we will be unavailable to lead the next call on October 20. Hi Everyone, I hope you are all doing well! I'm reaching out to let you know that the weekly calls will be suspended for the next few weeks. During Summer on the Northern hemisphere the weekly calls tend to get lower attendance, as people take vacation at different times. To be mindful of everyone's time, the core group decided to take a short break and suspend the weekly calls for August. Hi Everyone, We've just had the Edge Computing Group weekly call earlier today. We finished editing a new article to submit to an IEE publication, based on our latest Edge AI whitepaper. We are still discussing what is coming next, and made progress to decide: - To prioritize writing a series of blog posts/articles as opposed to a new whitepaper - The topic of our first blog post will be: How to Implement Edge AI infrastructures with OpenInfra and other open source projects? - Following areas we will explore: + How to implement use cases we identified for the Edge AI whitepaper with OpenInfra and open source projects? + How to use AI to do performance improvements? + Reference architecture and infrastructure recipes for a cookbook What would you like to work on as a next step? Hi Everyone, The working group participants are currently focusing on writing a new whitepaper. Along with that goal we spent today's call as a working session to go through content and comments that people contributed to the document so far. During our conversation today we focused on areas such as strategy to define terms like 'edge' and 'AI'. We also went into a bit of detail on our desire to cover hardware considerations, and the group gravitated towards having follow-up articles to do deep dives on certain topics that the paper doesn't have the bandwidth to cover.
