It's looking like no matter what time we end up with, there are folks
who would like to attend the meeting who won't be able to.  We can still
pick the least-worst time so that if someone really wants to join a
meeting one day, they won't have to get up too early or stay too late.

We could also schedule alternating weekly meetings, so that we have one
convenient for EMEA and another convenient for APAC.

Or we could cancel the meeting altogether.

Instead, when we want to collect input from, or disseminate information
to folks, we can make better use of this mailing list.  Mailing lists
are better for that anyway, and are more convenient for folks who have
limited time to contribute to Zuul.

Mailing lists aren't great for finalizing consensus though.  For that,
we may want to follow up with folks in IRC when necessary.  If we've
discussed something on the mailing list and next steps aren't clear,
it's easy enough on IRC to ping the folks involved in the conversation
and work through the remaining issues.

Another thing the IRC meeting gives us is some periodicity to our work.
Sometimes it's nice to have recurring event to mark time, and to bring
us together over what's happening in the project.  To compensate for
that, we could email weekly notices about what we're working toward.
That might spur followup email or IRC discussions.

What would folks prefer?

a) Weekly meeting at 20:00 UTC.
b) Weekly alternating meetings at 15:00 UTC and 23:00 UTC
c) No meetings

I'm fine with any of these options.

No meetings is interesting to me. I'm hesitant to give up the meetings but at the same time it could work out better and you've explained the pros and cons well. It's also something that we probably won't know until we try it but it should be easy to go back to meetings should it fail. Therefore my preference is: C, B, A (but again, any is fine).

Cheers,
Josh

Thanks,

Jim
