Hi Team,
Here is the meeting minutes for this week:
https://etherpad.opnfv.org/p/edge_cloud_meeting_minutes
* continue discussion on keystone testing
* https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/ECG_Keystone_Testing
* https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Keystone_edge_architectures
* scenario from OPNFV: real deployment, e.g. real multi cloud in distributed sites
* keystone team expects edge cloud team to define the scenario, write opnfv-edge-specific test cases (current keystone federation test cases are basic), and provide OPNFV Pharos hardware topology for real OpenStack deployment
* EC WG are still talking about whether federation is a good solution, other option could be db replication
* OPNFV can start with two baremetal environment in same lab, and develop the testcase first. will have to see if the current framework in opnfv can be used
* people who are interested in keystone edge testing, please sign up: https://etherpad.opnfv.org/p/edge_cloud_meeting_minutes
* continue discussion on EnOS
* enoslib: https://enoslib.readthedocs.io/en/stable/
- Book resources
- Emulate your infrastructure (TC)
+ Netem: https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/networking/netem
- deploy a complex software
* enoslib has been used to conduct such experiments:
+ombt-orchestrator ( AMQP alternatives for the edge)
- enoslib + oslo
- https://docs.openstack.org/performance-docs/latest/test_plans/massively_dist ribute_rpc/plan.html
+ juice (devstack / keystone in an edge context)
- enoslib + devstack for keystone
- https://beyondtheclouds.github.io/blog/openstack/cockroachdb/2018/06/04/eval uation-of-openstack-multi-region-keystone-deployments.html
* Enos: https://enos.readthedocs.io/en/stable/
EnOSlib + OpenStack
* See FEMDC webpage for more enos-related presentation:
https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Fog_Edge_Massively_Distributed_Clouds#Achiev ed_Actions
* requirement doc has been uploaded to gerrti: https://gerrit.opnfv.org/gerrit/#/c/58959/ . Please review and leave your comment for the report.
* Alternative meeting on Thursday might be canceled. We’ll continue meeting on Wednesday bi-weekly.
