I noticed someone subscribed to this list earlier today and then sent half a dozen spam posts. I've unsubscribed them and deleted their posts from the archive, but if this continues we may want to consider adjusting the new member policy for the list. For example, we can make it so that anyone else who subscribes from now on will have their posts moderated until a moderator sets that new subscriber as allowed to post unmoderated, once they've demonstrated that they're here for the intended topics of discussion.
Unrelated, I checked the moderator queue and see quite a few held posts which look legitimate (presumably because Andreea is on sabbatical and there are no other active moderators for this list), so I'm going to approve them through to the list now and set myself as a stand-in moderator while we seek additional volunteers for the task.
